Title Nano-Hertz stochastic gravitational wave background
Abstract The evidence of nano-Hertz stochastic gravitational wave (GW) background is reported by multiple pulsar timing array (PTA) collaborations. In this talk, I will review the basic idea of the PTA experiment and the astrophysical interpretation of such GW backgrounds. Instead of the astrophysical interpretation, they can also be explained in several cosmological scenarios of the early universe. Interestingly, the nano-Hertz range coincides with the Hubble scale during the cosmological quantum chromodynamics (QCD) phase transition. The GW spectrum in cosmological scenarios can hence be affected by this phase transition.
