| Title | Strings and branes in AdS_3 and their holographic duals |
| Abstract | Superstring theory on AdS_3 x S^3 x T^4 is supposed to be dual to 2d symmetric orbifold CFT. Recently, the duality was proven in the case with tensionless strings. In this talk, we overview the derivation of the duality and extend it to the case with D-branes. We show that open strings on AdS_2 branes in AdS_3 are dual to a certain type of interfaces in the symmetric orbifold. We provide a CFT description of the interfaces and reproduce the open string partition functions from dual CFT. We also comment on the match of correlation functions. |
